my head gaskets haven't gone "yet" and was just thinking about what i would do if they did.  also thinking of what to do before they do.  i know i am going to put studs in and was going to use factory head gaskets.  but in my research found a lot of people talking about "fire ring" but couldn't find any info about it and what it was.  what is "fire ring" and what does it involve? :cconfused

fire ringing isn't really neccesary for even above average power levels...it's a process where metel rings are installed between the block and heads to contain the combustion gasses/pressures, instead of relying on the HG alone... there is a substantial amount of additional machine work that needs to be done, and some people have had problems because of the inexperience of machine shops with this type of install..

if you get a good stud job done, you'll be fine..

only a handful of guys are running them..they're top performers..i've read mixed results even from them...you could pay for having 2 motors studded for the price of one studded and ringed...not worth it for even an aggresive street truck ...

now if you put an SNPS decal on your truck, that might give you a real performance gain..:poke

All my power comes from my stickers.  It must, as I have nowhere else it could come from...

Me and him both have good stud jobs and solid heads, and we never puke
