Have you bought the Suncoast kit? Is it a complete rebuild, new TC, etc?
What about taking it down to John Woods, didn't William mention that he rebuilds Torqshifts?

if i can't get it warrantied by the shop that built it ( i think i can since i'm within the time limit, not sure about mileage, but they put the wrong atf in it so hopefully they'll make it right)...
if that doesn't work i will probably go with the suncoast kit. there are two kits, both come w/tons of stuff: Xtreme Duty Rebuild Kit

oh yeah, and i already have a billet 3disc converter from D/P products was put in before the last tranny was done. i dont think the converter is the problem.
and john wood is pricey, but his price includes converter, and for some reason john wood uses factory ford internals (except for the billet shafts) i wonder why ?

I'll talk to Arne and see what he would charge to do it with the suncoast kit supplied by you.
He built my tranny about 8 months ago. I love it. He had mine in about a week because some parts was on back order.

So all new clutches & everything, sounds good. Is your TC okay, or is it toast, too?
When I had Brian Thompson of BTS do my tranny, he used Ford clutches, too. He just used more of them, so there was less slop, which means less slippage & heat. The VB & TC were designed to his specs, and like Chris, transmissions are something I know nothing about (except that it's worth having a good one). He said he used the OE clutches because they were good, there just weren't enough of them (or something like that).
Hopefully the company that built yours will step up & fix it since it's in warranty & they used the wrong ATF.Last edited on Sun Jan 27th, 2008 08:24 am by sandnut
